Holy Family Catholic School in North Miami , Florida is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable full-time Teacher/ IT Support Specialist . This dual role requires a passionate educator with strong technical skills, capable of both teaching students and supporting staff with the integration and effective use of technology in the classroom. The ideal candidate will be experienced with school-based applications, student iPads, and Rediker, and will be comfortable training teachers and working with students across grade levels. The Teacher/ IT Support Specialist performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities:
Teaching Duties:
- Design and deliver engaging elective classes for students.
- Teach students foundational and advanced computer skills, including digital citizenship, coding, productivity tools, and creative software.
- Foster a learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and digital literacy.
IT Support & Integration:
- Provide first-line support for student and teacher devices, primarily iPads and related classroom technology.
- Manage and troubleshoot classroom technology including interactive displays, printers, and educational software.
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of student iPads and school technology infrastructure.
Staff Training & Support:
- Train and support teachers in the effective use of technology in instruction, including best practices for integrating educational apps and tools.
- Lead professional development sessions and create user-friendly guides or tutorials.
- Serve as a resource for teachers to troubleshoot issues and maximize the use of technology in the classroom.
Administrative Technology:
- Support the use and management of Rediker and other school-based platforms (grading, attendance, communication, etc.).
- Collaborate with school leadership to improve workflows and implement technology-based solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Florida Department of Education Elementary K-5 teaching certificate in temporary or professional required.
- Must obtain catechetical certification from the Archdiocese Office of Catechesis within three years of hire.
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) and educational technologies (e.g., coding platforms, robotics kits).
- Demonstrate flexibility in assessing student needs and create related strategies to adapt appropriately within the classroom setting.
- Excellent presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
- Excellent oral and written English -language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor, including adherence to dress code.
