K-8 Art Teacher

St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School in South Miami, Florida is seeking a Full-time Art Teacher for grades K-8 to begin October 2026. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for art students. This teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or related field.
- FDOE Teaching certificate in Art Education, temporary or professional required.
- Must obtain catechetical certification from Archdiocesan Office of Catechesis within three years of hire.
- Minimum of 1-year classroom experience.
- Flexibility to assess needs with ability to adapt appropriately in a ministerial environment.
- Able to collaborate in a professional learning community to develop, implement and improve the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction to facilitate high student achievement.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Complete mastery of the written and spoken English and Spanish language.
- Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint a plus.
- Must have clear and concise communications with students and parents.
- Good spelling and grammar required.
- Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Knowledge of the basic tenets of the Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor, including adherence to dress code.
