Head Wrestling Coach

Monsignor Edward Pace High School, located in Miami Gardens (Miami-Dade County), is seeking to hire qualified and experienced Head Wrestling Coach for the 2026-27 season. Applicants must be able to provide leadership, coordination, and administration of their assigned team. The Head Coach ensures that the team embodies the school’s Catholic mission and maximizes the athletic, mental, and spiritual development of all participants. The candidate will perform all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities
- Develops teamwork, morale, sportsmanship, fair play, and fosters a strong adherence to rules of training and conduct.
- Assumes the responsibility in the development of the team within the total program.
- Attends all scheduled practices and matches and is responsible for his/her athletes' behavior.
- Ensures the team complies with school, district, and state athletic rules and regulations.
- Coordinates with school administration and athletic director on program needs and updates.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or over.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of previous related coaching experience.
- Possesses a strong knowledge of wrestling, knowledge of training and conditioning techniques, and the ability to diagnose player deficiencies and prescribe corrective activities to promote the success of the student-athlete.
- Understands that the players are student athletes and fosters an understanding for a high level of academics.
- Ability to properly communicate with student athletes, parents, and other coaches effectively.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
- Must have a team player attitude and be energetic, with a focus on excellent customer service.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Possesses and maintains a moral character that is in congruence with the expectations of the Archdiocese of Miami and the vision and mission of Monsignor Edward Pace High School.
