St. Bonaventure Catholic School in Davie, Florida has an opening for a Middle School Science Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for middle school students. The applicant should be a dynamic and innovative educator who has the ability to develop lessons including lab experiments that cultivate critical thinking skills, design instruction to motivate and engage all learners, and possess the ability to develop cross-curricular units. The candidate performs duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and experience.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree or higher in Science, Education, or related field.
- Florida Department of Education Teacher certification in Science (5-9) or any 6-12 Science certification.
- Must obtain catechetical certification from the Archdiocese Office of Catechesis within three years of hire.
- Knowledge of scientific field and strategies for engagement, instruction and assessment.
- Knowledge and training in lab experiments.
- Excellent classroom management skills and have demonstrated ability to engage students.
- Strong presentation skills with skill in use of instructional technologies.
- Excellent oral and written English-language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Exemplify professionalism in behavior and performance, including adherence to dress code.
