Miami ... (Nov. 16, 2021) Effective November 5th, the Archdiocese of Miami (ADOM) announced revisions to its Catholic Schools’ COVID-19 policy. The update stated all students, regardless of age, may opt out of wearing masks in schools if they are fully vaccinated, and have submitted confirmation of vaccine status or through the Florida SHOTS database.

Presently the ADOM policy may differ from local public schools and other educational systems. As always, the Archdiocese is led by the best interests of the health and well-being of its 31,000 students and employees in our Catholic schools.

The Archdiocese administrators consult daily with a team of independent medical experts regarding any revisions to ADOM’s COVID-19 policy. When an update is announced, parents are notified by their child(ren)’s school principal; media are also alerted.

The Archdiocese of Miami acknowledges this has been a complex school year together and may God continue to bless its efforts on behalf of a unified ministry of Catholic education.
