CORAL SPRINGS | St. Andrew School's eighth grade students took second place in the Cardinal Gibbons High School Brain Brawl, a Jeopardy style competition with categories including literature, history, mathematics, science and current events.

Prior to entering the final round of the competition, which took place Nov. 14, the team gathered in a circle and each student offered a prayer for God's blessings in a different language.

The Crusaders team included Tahmie Der, Hope Alex, Camila Jaramillo, Tyler Simons and Florah Charles. Overall, they lived up to St. Andrew School's mission statement, which says the school "prepares students in a spiritual, academic, and nurturing environment to become productive leaders rooted in the Catholic virtues of faith, hope and love."
