LITTLE HAVANA — For over 20 years, the parish community of St. John Bosco in Little Havana has been helping needy families have a meal for Thanksgiving Day.

On Saturday, Nov. 21, more than 600 pre-registered families were given a turkey for Thanksgiving and a $15 Winn Dixie gift card.

“United as a parish community we come together to help those around us that are facing challenging times so that they too can enjoy a family dinner on Thanksgiving,” said Father Juan Carlos Paguaga, pastor at St. John Bosco. “We remember to give thanks to our Lord for all the blessings he has given us and for giving us this opportunity to help our brothers and sisters in need.”

The turkey distribution is made possible by the generosity of the Anthony R. Abraham Foundation, parish families, Little Flower Parish in Coral Gables, St. Agnes Parish in Key Biscayne, members of the Order of Malta, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy in Miami, the Knights of Columbus of Coral Gables and other community organizations.
