HOLLYWOOD | Emily Holcombe, a freshman at Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory, is among the winners of WLRN Public Radio's O, Miami ZipOde poetry contest.

Emily was one of Christine Wehnes' English Honors students who submitted odes to the contest as part of the celebration of National Poetry Month (April). Emily got to read her winning ZipOde during the O, Miami Poetry Festival April 26 at The Kampong in Coconut Grove, part of the National Tropical Botanical Garden.

The rules of the contest are simple: Write a five line poem, since each zip code has five numbers, with the words on each line matching the number on your zip code. Here's Emily's ode to her zip code, 33323:

My home isn't
the house I
live in, but
the streets
I wander through.
