VATICAN CITY | Archbishop Thomas Wenski shared a laugh with Pope Francis after the Wednesday general audience in St. Peter's Square Nov. 9.
The archbishop was leading a pilgrimage of Miami Catholics to Rome Nov. 4-11 for the Jubilee Year of Mercy.
In addition to attending the general audience, the pilgrims entered through the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica, enjoyed a private tour of the Sistine Chapel, took a side trip to Assisi and celebrated Mass at the porziuncola, the small church within the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels where the Franciscan order began. They also toured Castelgandolfo, the pope's summer residence and its gardens, as well as key sites of both ancient and Christian Rome.
