MIAMI | Four student athletes from Belen Jesuit Prep have signed their national letters of intent to play sports at the collegiate level. The signing ceremony took place May 24 in the Roberto Goizueta Athletic Center.

The athletes and their sports are:

Baseball:

  • Julio Aira – Pennsylvania State University, Abington, Pennsylvania
  • Albert Gutierrez- Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts

Crew:

  • Nicolas Waterhouse - University of California, Los Angeles
  • Benjamin Gilbert – University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware

"Both Albert and Julio are outstanding young men who are very focused,” said Jerry Albert, head baseball coach. “The fact that they can continue their studies in excellent educational institutions where they can continue to play baseball throughout their college years is a blessing. Both of them have very bright futures."

“I am very proud of the accomplishments of both Ben and Nicolas,” said Yunian Cabrera, crew head coach. “They have put in the time, hard work, dedication, and sacrifice and I know they will continue to represent Belen Jesuit well throughout their college years.”
