The riches of South Florida’s spiritual art are captured in “Visions of Faith,” an interfaith exhibit to make visible the ways that Jewish and Catholic congregations build beauty into their faith and worship.

Included are 26 photos of wall-filling stained-glass windows from synagogues and Catholic churches, plus Torah scrolls, murals, statuettes, metal sculptures, and other artworks.

The p exhibit is  co-produced by James Davis writer-photographer, who has worked for more than a decade with The Florida Catholic, the newspaper for the Archdiocese of Miami. Before then, he was the longtime religion editor of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Florida. His photographic exhibition is being sponsored by the St. Thomas University and curated by Isabel Medina, assistant archivist and museum coordinator.

The other contributor of the exhibit is Ellen Goldberg, a photographer and longtime Jewish communal professional.

The exhibit will open Tuesday, March 12, at 2 p.m. Rev. Jorge A. Sardiñas Gallery, on St. Thomas University and will be open daily through June 12.

Exhibition hours:

Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sundays from noon to 7 p.m.

Come watch Archdiocese of Miami priests face off in a soccer match against priests from the Archdiocese of Quito, Ecuador in the Clericus Cup International. The match will take place Tuesday, April 23, at 7 p.m. on the field of St. Thomas University, 16401 N.W. 37 Ave., Miami Gardens.

Women of Grace fundational program - 9 weeks

Women of Grace Foundational Study, you will embark upon a journey of transformation as you explore the great call and gift of your authentic femininity. Each week you will meet two great women saints, the teachings of the Holy Mother Church. Unpack the life-changing wisdom of discover how the Blessed Virgin Mary is the exemplar of pathway to her Son, Jesus Christ and the heart of the Father.

The North American Vocation Team (NAVT) of the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) invites young adults ages 18 and older to evening prayer via Zoom on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, at 8 p.m. EST (7 p.m. CST).

Participants will experience evening prayer in the rhythm of the Liturgy of the Hours interspersed with faith sharing and/or other prayer styles such as Lectio Divina, Taizé or Contemplative prayer. The online communal prayer typically lasts about an hour.  

The SSND online evening prayer with young adults will continue on the fourth Tuesday of each month January through June 2024.

The Volunteer Services Department of Catholic Hospice offers an array of volunteer opportunities for individuals looking to join an organization committed to providing care to vulnerable populations. Catholic Hospice volunteers can choose to serve in a number of special programs: Companion Care, Acts of Kindness Project, Camp Erin, We Honor Veterans, Pet Peace of Mind and more.
