CORAL GABLES | Kindness at St. Theresa School was as plain as the clothes on the students in January. That's when they used various garb to celebrate Kindness Week as part of its iCare anti-bullying program.

All students, on campus and attending virtually alike, took part in two weeks of activities focused on promoting kindness, eliminating negative behavior and helping others.

As part of the kindness theme, the students were encouraged to wear outfits and accessories tied in with a virtue. Their choices included bright colors, to brighten people's day with actions; superhero shirts, to encourage standing up for others; camo gear, for prayer warriors to help those who are struggling; and mismatched socks, to embrace differences.

Each month, St. Theresa celebrates a virtue with schoolwide activities and dress-down days. Because of the challenges of the COVID pandemic, the school has been seeking ways to combine fun with reminders of the importance of showing God's love to others.
