SOUTHWEST RANCHES | Children in a Pre-K4 class may be only 4 going on 5; but at St. Mark the Evangelist School, they’ve just published a book.
This year, teacher Michelle Davis asked her students to write and draw pictures of what they wanted to be when they get older. Their answers ranged from policeman to mermaid, farmer to princess. The resulting book, "When I Grow Up," was published through Student Treasures Inc. of Kansas City.
The 20 young authors celebrated with a publishing party, and they signed the book for their families. They were also recognized by the entire school and presented a copy to Father Jimmy Acevedo, the pastor at St. Mark.
