Mary Help of Christians students recognized for artwork

The artwork of Mary Help of Christians School fifth grader Maria Villareal-Rojaz, complete with unicorns, dragons, a sea otter and more, earned her an honorable mention at the Fantasy Boat Student Art Contest for the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade.

PARKLAND| Three fifth grade students from Mary Help of Christians School were recognized by the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade for their hand-drawn boat designs. Sophia Sochacki, Maria Villarreal-Rojas, and Santiago Vasquez received honorable mention awards for the Fantasy Boat Student Art Contest, which called for students to design a boat they would like to see in the annual boat parade. Art teacher, Mariel Buttonow, inspired and assisted all Mary Help of Christian students.In the 2019-2020 academic year, 774 students from 19 Broward County public, private, and charter schools participated in the contest.
