MIAMI | Students at St. Michael the Archangel School presented flowers to the Virgin Mary for a recent May Crowning and Mother's Day Mass.

Taking part were eighth-grade confirmands and second-grade First Communion children. Mothers of students helped with the presentation as well.

Also at St. Michael was a special Mass and crowning of an image of Mary. Those gathered thanked God for all mothers as well.

May is celebrated throughout the Church as the month of Mary, a custom that dates back to the medieval period.
