DAVIE | For All Saints Day, third-graders at St. Bonaventure School did more than study saints -- they dressed up as them.

For weeks, about 60 students prepared for the day by researching their favorite or patron saint, and write a report about the saint they are named after. Then they dressed as that saint and prepared to answer questions from faculty, parents and other classmates.

Gathering first at their school Mass, they learned of a few saints during the liturgy. Their pastor, Father Edmond Prendergast, told them: “Saints were ordinary people who did extraordinary things for God. They all let the light of Christ shine through them.”

Later that afternoon, the third-graders gathered at tables in the school cafeteria, dressed as their patron saint, and answered questions from anyone who stopped by.
