June 28, 2018 MEDIA ALERT
Miamiā¦ (June 28, 2018) Separation of families at the U.S. border has prompted Catholic Legal Services and Monsignor Bryan Walsh Children’s Village to respond to the humanitarian crisis.
“Please know that Catholic Legal Services is working closely with our partners at Americans for Immigrant Justice, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, others in the legal community, immigrant advocates and faith community to create an effective South Florida response to this crisis,” wrote Randolph McGrorty, CLS’ chief executive officer in an email to supporters.
Some children awaiting reunification remain in facilities in South Florida.
Monsignor Bryan Walsh Children’s Village is a facility for unaccompanied and undocumented minors that offers specialized shelter services in a compassionate, multilingual and multicultural environment. This program run by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami ensures that the physical, social, psychological, educational and health needs of each child are met while their immigration case is processed.
Those wishing to help Monsignor Bryan Walsh Children’s Village continue its mission can make financial donations by visiting www.ccadm.org.
