Learn natural family planning in Spanish

As part of a pilot program being launched nationwide by the Couple to Couple League, the Archdiocese of Miami will host a series of Spanish-language classes on natural family planning. The classes will take place at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Weston, Jan. 26, Feb. 9, Feb. 23 and March 23, 2018, all at 6:30 p.m. For registration and more information, contact Angelique or Richard Lopez, [email protected] or 305-216-5360.

 

Celebrate your marriage

All couples married in the Catholic Church who celebrating their paper (first), silver (25th), gold (50th) or 50-plus wedding anniversary in 2018 are invited to attend a Mass and receive a special blessing from Archbishop Thomas Wenski on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at St. Mary Cathedral. Couples interested in having their photo taken with Archbishop Wenski should arrive by 4 p.m. The Mass will start at 5:30 p.m. Participants will sit in a special designated area in the front pews. Couples should register via their local parish.

 

Chaminade-Madonna honors alumni

Father Stephen Hilley, class of 1970, will be among the alumni of Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory to be honored at the Hollywood school’s 2018 Founders Award Dinner and Dance. Father Hilley is currently pastor of St. Justin Martyr Church in Key Largo. He will be honored alongside Thomas Spulak, class of 1974, and John Schlageter, class of 1999. The award dinner will take place Saturday, Jan. 27, 6-10:30 p.m. at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club, 415 E. Country Club Circle, Fort Lauderdale. Women’s health, fertility seminar

The Archdiocese of Miami has teamed with the Catholic Medical Association and the Couple to Couple League to host a Women’s Health and Fertility Seminar, Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. Thomas University. The seminar will focus on innovative and natural options for women’s healthcare. Leading physicians, experts and women will share insights about safe reproductive healthcare that is medically unmatched and ethically sound. Simultaneous translation in Spanish will be provided. Travel to Dublin for World Meeting of Families

The Archdiocese of Miami is planning a pilgrimage to the World Meeting of Families taking place in Dublin, Ireland, Aug. 21-26, 2018. Catechesis director named to national board

Peter Ductram, archdiocesan director of the Office of Catechesis, has been appointed an at-large member of the board of directors of the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership. He will be completing the three-year term of a board member who resigned due to family health concerns. “We are blessed as an organization to have so many capable, dedicated leaders and we are certain that Peter will use his charisms and strengths in service of NCCL as an enthusiastic board participant,” said Ken Ogorek, president of the NCCL board of directors.
