HOUSTON | During a reception and dinner that coincided with the National Catholic Educational Association�s annual convention here, representatives of Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School in Southwest Ranches collected another award for their innovations in technology.
McCarthy High was one of 12 Catholic schools nationwide to receive the 2013 Innovations in Catholic Education award from Today�s Catholic Teacher. Now in its 16th year, the award recognizes innovative projects in six categories. McCarthy High won in the category of �projects facilitated by technology� for becoming a leader in integrating technology into the classroom, including iPads, Apple TVs, and free e-books offered through the library.
In addition to the award, the winning schools also received prizes from four nationally-recognized educational companies committed to supporting excellence in Catholic education:
