On April 3, 2012, Archbishop Thomas Wenski convoked the Second General Synod of the Church of the Archdiocese of Miami while celebrating the annual Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of St. Mary.
The synod is a process of listening to the people of God, followed by pastoral planning based upon what was heard. The work of the Synod will establish the priorities of the Archdiocese for the next 3-4 years. Archbishop Wenski's challenge to all of the faithful of the South Florida church is "to become evermore generously disciples in faith, missionaries of hope."
At the beginning of each Listening Session, and throughout the entire Synod, we pray the Prayer to the Holy Spirit that was invoked at the beginning of every session at the second Vatican Council, as a means to bless our work. We ask that you please keep the work of the Synod, and the people of the Archdiocese of Miami, in your prayers.
