Miami… (January 16, 2014) Archbishop Thomas Wenski is ready once again to put on his biker gear and take his foot off the brake for the second annual Archbishop’s Poker Run for the benefit of St. Luke’s Center.
A poker run is essentially a motorcycle race with several stops. At each stop the participants pick up a card and continue on to their way to the next stop. At the end of the race, whoever has the highest poker hand wins.
The Archbishop’s Poker Run will take place on Sunday, Feb. 9, beginning at Mary Help of Christians Church, located at 5980 University Drive, Parkland.
The almost 72 miles long race is scheduled to last about two hours. It will begin at 10:30 a.m., right after the 9 a.m. Mass, which will be presided by Archbishop Wenski.
Other stops include Rick Case Honda in Davie, Café 27 in Weston, and Archbishop Coleman Carroll High School in Miami.
The race will conclude at Peterson’s Harley Davidson South located at 19825 S Dixie Highway, Cutler Bay.
Registration is $25 per motorcycle and includes 1 Poker Card (for stamping) and 1 t-shirt. Registrations are still accepted at this time. To register please call 305-762-1051 or email email@example.com.
