Spiritual Companionship Program

Spiritual Companionship may be for YOU!

St. Thomas University offers a three year Spiritual Companionship Program that prepares people of faith to foster authentic spiritual growth in and through the companionship of others. This program draws together adults learners from various religious and professional backgrounds and prepares each for the ministry of spiritual direction and companionship, enhancing their work, especially in the areas of church ministries, teaching, health care, chaplaincy, and other helping professions.

Program begins in September 2017.  Registration is open. Call or email for more information!

Registration begins at 6 p.m.  Dinner promptly at 7 p.m.  Includes presentation, Reconciliation, Mass and midnight party. 

$90 per person for overnight - $70 per person for evening only.  Registration required.

St. Agnes Academy Application Season

St. Agnes is a co-educational Catholic elementary school, serving students from grades PreK-3 to 8th. The school offers top-notch amenities, a challenging academic curriculum, and an in-depth spiritual program.

Betania: para padres que sufren la pérdida de un hijo

El Ministerio Betania es un grupo de apoyo y ayuda para padres que han perdido hijos. Betania está auspiciada por la Arquidiócesis de Miami. La formamos  padres que hemos pasado por la misma experiencia y damos toda nuestra ayuda, apoyo, comprensión y empatía  a las personas que atraviesan por este mismo dolor.

Conscientes  del vacío que nos deja la pérdida de nuestros hijos/hijas, en las reuniones tratamos de ayudar dando consejos y compartiendo experiencias de cómo se puede continuar viviendo y cómo se integra la persona a la vida diaria después de esta triste situación. 

Ofrecemos el regalo del calor de la buena voluntad y de la fraternidad. Ayudamos a seguir en la vida con la gracia de Dios; y ponernos en sus manos y en esta relación de amor con el Señor aceptar lo sucedido. Se abre un espacio a la paz que necesitan y aprenden a sentir que los hijos nunca se han ido de sus vidas; ellos están siempre presente en la esperanza de todo cristiano de compartir todos, algún día, la Vida Eterna. 

Damos la bienvenida con los brazos abiertos no importando la circunstancia de la muerte del hijo/hija. No están solos, nosotros los esperamos para ayudarlos en este difícil caminar.

St. John Bosco Clinic seeks volunteers

If you have an interest in service to others, especially through supporting access to healthcare, St. John Bosco Clinic invites you to call us and see if we are a good match. We are looking for volunteers for the following duties:

  • Patient Registration: This position will be responsible to interview new patients and complete eligibility applications with primarily Spanish speaking patients. Position Open on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday from 12:30 – 4 p.m. / Fully bilingual in English and Spanish / Good communication skills / Excellent attention to detail / 1 -3 volunteers needed. 
  • Telephone/Reception: This position will be responsible to answer telephones and be able to communicate with a primarily Spanish-speaking call volume. Position open Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. / May volunteer 8:30 – 4:30 or 8:30 – 12:30 or 1 – 4:30 / Fully bilingual in English and Spanish / Good communication skills / 5 – 10 volunteers needed.
  • Office Support – this position will primarily work with clinic staff in obtaining reports for the healthcare providers, doing computer work and assisting with other non-direct patient related support services. May serve as backup to the telephone/receptionist volunteer. Position open Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. / May volunteer any day of the week; minimum of 4 hours per shift / Spanish not required, but helpful when covering for telephone duties/ Good knowledge of computer work / Knowledge of medical terminology a plus / 2-3 volunteers needed.

St. John Bosco Clinic is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine, Florida. Established in 1992, we aim to be an enduring presence providing care as long as there are underserved children and adults without access to healthcare. 

The strength of a free clinic lies in its volunteer support. Volunteers help strengthen the safety-net that cares for our community. Those served at St. John Bosco Clinic have different life stories, faces and nationalities. They are the young, old, working poor and the unemployed, but they share one very similar need: the need for healthcare and difficulty meeting that need for themselves and their families. The St. John Bosco Clinic is a safety-net for these families.
