Obtain a Master of Science in Bioethics

Thursday, Oct 19, 2017various times - English

St. Thomas University now offers a Master of Science degree in Bioethics. It is comprehensive, and covers both the human life issues and the environmental issues. It is designed for working people, so that classes don’t interfere with a weekly working schedule.

The program takes place over four contiguous terms: fall, spring, summer and fall again. So, for example, those who start this fall would be graduating in early December of 2018. It consists of two courses per semester, to a total of 30 graduate credits – no thesis involved. Classes are taught on Saturdays, and there are three ways of participating:

• Live to students who show up, using audio-visuals in the classroom.

• Remotely, through a professional online service that allows students to connect to the computer in the classroom – audio and visual – so that those who can’t travel to STU may still participate fully in the lecture.

• Each lecture is also recorded and stored online, so that those unable to participate live that day can always see and listen to the lecture sometime during the week, at their convenience.

The classes are taught by Father Alfred Cioffi, an archdiocesan priest for over 30 years, who has a doctorate degree in moral theology from the Gregorian University in Rome, and a doctorate degree in genetics from Purdue University in Indiana.

REBOOT! Live! is a high-energy, 2 ½ hour renewal event designed for ages 12 to 99 to bring new energy and vitality to our Catholic community. The event has two parts: It begins with an inspirational, high-energy unpacking of the heart of the Gospel, revealing its power and real beauty. The experience is fresh and compelling, and is like hearing the Gospel for the first time all over again! It finishes strong with real-life, practical, “can-do” ways of applying the genius of the Gospel in everyday life.

REBOOT! Live! will greatly impact the hearts and lives of everyone who attends! We pray you are willing to join with us in inviting family and friends to make this event one of the highlights of 2017 for our Catholic community and St. Mark!

Helping us make the RLC event a success means creating an opportunity to ignite a new passion and resolve in the hearts and minds of everyone who attends. Imagine having a much clearer understanding of God’s plan for our lives. Imagine more prayer, more study, and more generosity. Imagine more energy, more inquisitiveness, and more commitment. Imagine lives truly transformed in Christ! This is what we are aiming for with this event.

Below is a link to the event on the St. Mark website. To hear more about Chris Stefanick and purchase tickets, you can click on the “Reboot! Live!” link below, email us, or call the St. Mark Church officeat 954-434-3887. The tickets are just $20 each!

St. John Bosco Clinic is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine, Florida. Established in 1992, we aim to be an enduring presence providing care as long as there are underserved children and adults without access to healthcare.

The strength of a free clinic lies in its volunteer support. Volunteers help strengthen the safety-net that cares for our community. Those served at St. John Bosco Clinic have different life stories, faces and nationalities. They are the young, old, working poor and the unemployed, but they share one very similar need: the need for healthcare and difficulty meeting that need for themselves and their families. The St. John Bosco Clinic is a safety-net for these families.
