The Statewide Respect Life Conference comes to our archdiocese once every seven years and the Respect Life team is working very hard to make this a memorable event.

Due to the delays from the aftermath of hurricane Irma, we extended the early registration deadline to Oct. 10. If you haven’t yet reserved your seat, please register now.

Simultaneous translation from English to Spanish will be provided thanks to the support from the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary. There are limited quantities of headphones available. Availability will be first come, first serve.

Opening night, Oct. 20, we will pay special tribute to Dr. Jerome Lejeune, Servant of God, who founded the cause of Down syndrome and whose cause for canonization is underway. His widow, Madama Lejeune, will be traveling from Paris to join us and the Marian Center's Down syndrome Bell Choir will perform.

In addition, Bernadette Conklin will be bringing her unique statue of Mary, Ark of the New Covenant to the conference. Read about the inspiration behind the image and devotion here.

Our  keynote speakers will be:

Dr. Anthony Levatino, a former abortion provider. From selfish motives to true understanding, Dr. Levatino will discuss what it was like to perform abortions as part of his Ob-Gyn practice in upstate New York. Dr. Levatino will share his unique perspective about why a physician who has been trained to give life would take it away. He did as many as 1,200 abortions – some of them after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The story of his conversion to the pro-life cause has educated and motivated audiences world-wide.

Dr. Levatino will be giving two presentations at the conference; “Recognizing the Humanity of the Unborn Child” and in a closed session for priests and deacons, “Helping Priests Understand the Lies and Deceptions of the Abortion Industry.”

Dr. Alveda C. King, niece of Martin Luther King, Jr., pastoral associate and director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, and African-American Outreach for Priests for Life. Dr. King is the recipient of the Cardinal John O’Connor Pro-Life Hall of Fame Award and the Civil Rights Award from the Congress of Racial Equality and a bestselling author among whose books is, “How Can the Dream Survive If We Murder the Children?”

In her own words: “Abortion and racism are evil twins, born of the same lie.  Where racism hides its face in public, abortion is accomplishing the goals of which racism only once dreamed. Together, abortionists are destroying humanity at large and the black community in particular.”

And: “When we said we would no longer sit on the back of the bus, a place was being reserved for us down at the abortion clinic.”

Dr. King will be giving two presentations at the conference: “Civil Rights for the Unborn” and, in a closed session for priests and deacons, “Importance of the Priest’s Role in Defending the Least Among Us.”

Come meet Dr. Levatino and Dr. King at the Respect Life State Conference and hear their powerful message in defense of the "Least Among Us.
