Pace girls notch soccer win against Mater Lakes Academy

MIAMI GARDENS | After losing their first two games, Msgr. Edward Pace High School’s girls soccer team finally tasted victory Nov. 30 when they defeated local rival Mater Lakes Academy (1-0). Both teams played a strong match but it was the Spartans who edged out the Bears in the conference game, also Mater Lakes’ home opener.

The Spartans lost their two first games against Ransom Everglades and Miami Edison, but are looking forward to facing off against Mast Academy, Immaculata- La Salle High School, Chaminade-Madonna College Prep and Booker T. Washington High in what remains of the regular season.

Under new coach Jamel Johnson, the team is anticipating a strong 2017-2018 year with hopes for a post season beginning in late January.
