Camillus House will unveil a new housing program to provide emergency, transitional and permanent housing for up to 100 veterans once fully operational in the Summer, 2017.  The Somerville Veterans Residence, named after the late Brother Harry Somerville, is a former permanent housing facility that is currently being retrofitted to serve as a therapeutic community with wraparound services.  Key services will include mental health and substance abuse treatment, vocational and employment assistance, health and wellness activities, and even a dog kennel. The center will include a 40-bed emergency shelter, which has already been completed; transitional treatment housing for up to 25 male or female veterans; and Permanent supported housing for up to 35 single male or female veterans.
