HOLLYWOOD | Spencer Ginocchio, an eighth grade student attending Little Flower School, has qualified as a semifinalist in the 29th annual 2017 Florida National Geographic State Bee.

School Bees were held in schools throughout the state to determine each school champion. The school champions then took a qualifying test, which was submitted to the National Geographic Society for further review.

This year, the National Geographic Society has invited up to 100 of the top-scoring students in each of the 50 states to compete in the state qualifying event. State-level winners will move on to compete at the national level.

Spencer’s love of Geography and Social Studies has inspired him throughout his nine years at Little Flower. He is an honor roll student, athlete, and 2017 school nominee for the Golden Knight Award. He credits his family, his teachers, Antoniette Bonachea and Marta Kidd, and his fellow students who assisted in preparing him for the state bee.
