SOUTHWEST RANCHES | For the sixth consecutive year, the women's soccer team at Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School performed volunteer community service for Thanksgiving.

A total of 30 people from McCarthy High worked at Life4Net Families, Lauderhill, for the holiday. They cooked and cleaned in the kitchen, organized clothing, and packed food boxes to be delivered to families over the Thanksgiving weekend.

The four-hour project involved 24 players from the Lady Mavs team, plus two other students, three coaches and two parents. They filled a total of 128 boxes.

They also organized hundreds of donated clothing items, making it easier for families to go through and choose what they needed.
