Our Lady of Charity Mass reset for Oct. 12

The annual Our Lady of Charity Mass, postponed due to Hurricane Irma, has been rescheduled for Oct. 12 at 8 p.m. at its usual location, the University of Miami’s Watsco Center (formerly BankUnited), at 1245 Dauer Drive, Coral Gables. Archbishop Thomas Wenski invites all priests to concelebrate, and extends a special invitation to all the faithful to take part in this celebration. The collection taken up at this year's Mass will go toward hurricane relief for all those affected by Irma and Maria in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Retrouvaille helps troubled marriages

Retrouvaille, a retreat for married couples facing challenges in their relationship, will take place the weekend of Oct. 27-29. It’s a live-in weekend that emphasizes communication techniques between husband and wife, followed by post-weekend meetings where couples receive support as they work to restore their marriage. Counselor training for Scout leaders

Although Hurricane Irma forced the cancellation of the Sept. 23 training for religious emblem counselors at Girl Scout Camp Choee in southern Miami-Dade County, Catholic Scout leaders and those wishing to work as counselors can attend a training offered Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the South Florida Boy Scout Council Offices. Teens invited to archdiocesan Mercy Night

The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry invites all young people in sixth through 12th grades to attend Mercy Night, Saturday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 10 p.m. at St. Thomas University, Miami Gardens. Mercy Night is an evening of inspiring talks, adoration, confession, games and music, featuring Father Tony Ricard and EPIC the Band, as well as Archbishop Thomas Wenski. Teens must register through their parish youth ministry coordinators, high school campus ministers or religion teachers, and must attend with a chaperone. Cost is $5 now, or $10 after Oct. 20. Hear Scott Hahn, Hosffman Ospino at Catechetical Conference

Scott Hahn and Hosffman Ospino will deliver the keynote addresses in English and Spanish at the 2017 Catechetical Conference of the Archdiocese of Miami, to be held Saturday, Nov. 4, at the DoubleTree Convention Center in Miami. This year's speakers and musicians include: Timothy Matovina, Father Tony Ricard, Immaculate Heart of Mary Sister Pat McCormack, Maria Covarrubias, Charleen Katra, Father Manny Alvarez, Father Armando Tolosa, and Jackie Francois. The conference is not just for catechists. It’s open to everyone who wants to deepen their knowledge of Scripture, the sacraments, liturgy, prayer and Catholic morality.
