WEST PARK | Two science projects done by students of Annunciation School earned ribbons at the Broward County Science and Engineering Fair.

The eighth grade team earned a first place and a trip to the Florida State Science and Engineering Fair in Lakeland March 28-30. Sixth grader Aden Toler earned a fourth place with his project investigating the best sunscreen to use.

The eighth grade team wanted to give people an alternative to using mosquito repellents that are packed with chemicals. Their project, "Exploring A Natural Solution That Can Be Used as a Substitute for Chemically Induced Mosquito Repellents," found that plants and herbs from nature can be effective at repelling mosquitoes.

Team members were Lilian Ang, Brian Cervoni-Fafian, Marjdole Jadotte, and Emily Nortmann.
