KRAKOW, Poland | Jubilant pilgrims, including nearly 500 from South Florida, welcomed Pope Francis July
28 to World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland. An estimated 1 million young people
from 187 countries crowded into Blonia Park for what has been called the Catholic
Woodstock.
“Today the Church looks to you and wants
to learn from you, to be reassured that the Father’s mercy has an ever-youthful
face, and constantly invites us to be part of his Kingdom,” the pope said, according
to the Catholic News Agency.
“Knowing your enthusiasm for mission, I
repeat: Mercy always has a youthful face!” he added.
