Three Pace Student Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

Will play for Missouri Baptist, St. Thomas University

MIAMI GARDENS | Msgr. Edward Pace High School celebrated the success of three student athletes as wrestler Alexander Perez signed a Letter of Intent with Missouri Baptist University while basketball star Destiny Wilson and tennis star Josvany Lesende signed Letters of Intent with St. Thomas University.

The trio signed their scholarships in front of their families, the Pace student body, and Pace administration.

  • Alex Perez won the 2016 1A 138lb State Wrestling Championship earlier this year, pinning all of his opponents at states in under two minutes combined.
  • Destiny Wilson is a standout girls basketball and flag football player, helping both of her teams reach regional competitions several times during her years at Pace.
  • Josvany Lesende is one of Pace’s star tennis players and was named Honorable Mention in the 2015 All-Dade tennis team.
