St. Brendan baseball players and swimmer sign Letter of Intent

MIAMI | St. Brendan High School seniors Benito Varela, Nicolas Lares, Hugo Casilla and Zuhayr Pigot all signed their National Letter of Intent this past week to play for a university or college. 

Varela will play baseball for the Stetson Hatters, Lares and Casilla will play baseball for the University of Bridgepoint Purple Knights, and Pigot will swim for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. 

All three baseball players received full academic/athletic scholarships; Pigot earned a 65 percent athletic scholarship. 

St. Brendan administration, faculty and staff wish all four students the best of luck in their collegiate careers.
