St. Brendan High hosts Academic Olympics

St. Timothy, St. Theresa and St. Kevin win three top spots

MIAMI | St. Brendan High School hosted its third annual Academic Olympics Oct. 17, giving students from 13 middle schools the opportunity to test their knowledge in one of 10 subject areas.

It was a close competition with excitement running high in the St. Brendan gym, as over 600 students, families and educators cheered each other on.

After individual winners in each subject area received their medals, the overall trophies were awarded to: St. Timothy School, Miami, first place; St. Theresa School, Coral Gables, second place; and St. Kevin School, Miami, third place.

This year's 130-plus student Olympians came from the following schools:

  • St. Brendan Elementary, Miami
  • St. Hugh, Coconut Grove
  • St. John Neumann, Miami
  • St. Kevin, Miami
  • St. Michael the Archangel, Miami
  • St. Theresa, Coral Gables
  • St. Thomas the Apostle, Miami
  • Good Shepherd, Miami
  • Mother of Our Redeemer, Miami
  • St. Timothy, Miami
  • Our Lady of Lourdes Parish School, Miami
  • Sts. Peter and Paul, Miami
  • Highpoint Academy, Miami
