BOCA RATON | Six Miami seminarians were among the 13 men ordained transitional deacons by Bishop John Noonan of Orlando during a Mass April 16 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Boca Raton.

Transitional deacons are so called because they are on their way to ordination as priests, usually after completing a year of parish work and their seminary studies. All the new deacons are studying at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach.
