MIAMI | The Office of Catechesis will be offering its Summer Institute June 15-19 at five locations in Miami-Dade County and June 26-July 2 at one location in Broward.
These intensive week-long courses are designed to fit the busy schedules of catechists and Catholic educators who are working toward completing the Archdiocesan Catechist Certification requirements.
But the program also is "available to any minister in the Church," said Peter Ductram, director of the Office of Catechesis.
The courses will cover topics such as: Introduction to Sacred Scripture, the Creed, Liturgy and Sacraments, Catholic Morality, and Catholic Social Doctrine and Practice. They will be offered in both English and Spanish at the following locations:
June 15-19 in Miami-Dade and Broward: Archbishop Edward McCarthy High, Mother of Our Redeemer School, St. Brendan High and Our Lady of Lourdes Academy.
June 26-July 2 in Broward: St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
