MIAMI | Mercy Hospital was a hub of activity this past weekend as it hosted the annual celebration for the feast of Our Lady of Mercy Sept. 24, and the premiere the night before of a documentary marking the 150th anniversary of the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine.
The Sisters of St. Joseph founded and still sponsor Mercy Hospital. The facility is now owned by HCA (Hospital Corporation of America) but operates according to Catholic moral principles.
Archbishop Thomas Wenski, along with Auxiliary Bishop Peter Baldacchino and priests who serve as chaplains at the hospital, celebrated the 29th annual Mass for Our Lady of Mercy in this Jubilee Year of Mercy. His homily is posted here.
