PARKLAND | The Teacher Trotters singing and dancing to the popular "YMCA" tune was only part of the entertainment as Mary Help of Christians School kicked off its annual Turkey Trot Fundraiser to raise money for the ongoing education of its students.

As part of the pep rally, Tom Turkey, the Turkey Trot mascot, danced alongside the Panther band, varsity cheerleaders and Panther Pals mini cheer troupe.

“What a fantastic way to start our day,” said the school's principal, Stephen Brown. “It really made my day to see my teachers dancing, our athletes and band performing and our students screaming and cheering in support. We have great team spirit at MHOC, and are excited to kick off our annual event that raises funds for our school growth and expansion.”

The Teacher Trotters featured teachers Susan Calderalo, Cynthia Longman, Lisa DiRenzo and Margaret Borello.
