Little Flower hosts ecumenical prayer service for peace

A show of solidarity with victims of religious persecution, brutality

CORAL GABLES | In light of recent human atrocities that have affected numerous brother and sister Catholics, Christians, and other people of good will, the Church of the Little Flower, located at 2711 Indian Mound Trail in Coral Gables, will be holding a Candlelight Ecumenical Prayer Service on Monday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m.

Father Michael Davis, Little Flower's pastor, explained: "In spiritual solidarity with the victims of religious persecution, and with heaviness of heart due to the brutality against so many innocent human lives, including our new concern for the 70 Christians who are now being held in captivity as hostages, we seek to pray:

  • that the dignity of human life be respected, and that the lives of the hostages be spared;
  • that all religious extremism and intolerance be eradicated;
  • that all who have given their lives in the witness of faith, inspire the universal  work for peace and conciliation;
  • that the wellbeing of all peoples be assured across the globe; and
  • for the safety and protection of each of our communities, families and loved ones."

The prayer service is open to the public.
