Getting ‘the Word’ out at Blessed Trinity

Missionaries from Rome begin 10 days of evangelization in Miami Springs

VIRGINIA GARDENS | Twenty-two members of the Emmanuel School of Mission from Rome are visiting Blessed Trinity Parish to lead a 10-day Parish Easter Mission.

The missionaries have a busy schedule while making only their third visit to the United States. They will be evangelizing the Miami Springs/Virginia Gardens community by joining parishioners in visits to the homebound and elderly, as well as leading nightly prayer and worship services.

Their visit took a year of planning, so Blessed Trinity’s pastor, Father Jose Alfaro, is encouraging everyone to participate in the daily events.

The public is invited to join the missionaries in evening prayer with praise and worship May 4 and 5. On Wednesday, May 4, at 8 p.m., the missionaries are hosting a Youth Night in the parish hall, targeting high school-age students.

Friday, May 6, the missionaries will lead a night of healing and mercy in the church. Mercy Night will include testimonies, music, and the opportunity to have the missionaries and priests pray over those in attendance. Mercy Night begins at 7 p.m. and includes a healing Mass.

The pinnacle event of the Easter Mission will be the rosary and Mass on Saturday, May 7, in downtown Miami Springs, at the gazebo in the Circle. The community is invited to join the missionaries in prayer beginning at 5 p.m. followed by Mass which will be celebrated by Archbishop Thomas Wenski. Testimonies, music, entertainment and food trucks will follow the Mass at 7 p.m.

Blessed Trinity is located at 4020 Curtiss Parkway, Virginia Gardens, 33166.
