MIAMI | The Office of Lay Ministry invites the faithful to enroll in the Archdiocesan School of Ministry, a two-year formation program for lay men and women who desire to grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith and their ability to serve the Church.
Classes focus on spirituality, theology and pastoral ministry, and are a must for anyone already engaged in ministry. Students can opt for traditional classroom format or online courses in both English and Spanish. Classes meet once a week: on Tuesday evenings, in English and Spanish, at St. Brendan High School, Miami; on Wednesday evenings, in English, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, West Kendall; and on Thursday evenings, in Spanish, at St. Bartholomew Parish in Miramar.
Students interested in learning more about their faith receive a Catholic Studies Certificate; those interested in serving in a particular ministry receive a Pastoral Ministry Certificate. Participants must be recommended by their pastor. Courses for the 2018 graduating class begin this September.
Tuition is $560/individual or $1,020/couple, plus a non-refundable registration fee of $25 by July 31 or $50 after Aug. 1. Enrollment ends Aug. 31. For application forms, go to www.miamiarch.org/layministry and click on the School of Ministry tab. Or email: [email protected] or 305-762-1184.
