Miamiā¦(March 27, 2015) Archbishop Thomas Wenski will be celebrating this year’s Mass for Palm Sunday on March 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Cathedral located at 7525 NW 2nd Avenue Miami, FL 33150.
Archbishop Thomas Wenski will bless the palms outside St. Mary Cathedral, weather permitting, prior to celebrating the Mass.
Palm Sunday, also known as Sunday of the Passion, is the Sunday before Easter and marks the beginning of Holy Week. Before the Mass, the blessing of the palms ideally takes place apart from the church, so that the congregation can go there in procession, singing hymns to Christ the Messiah and King, and so enter spiritually and physically (symbolically at least) into His entry into Jerusalem and ascent to the Temple and His Passion.
