SOUTHWEST RANCHES | Families, friends and coaches celebrated with student athletes from Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School during the Athletic Spring Signing and Luncheon held in the school’s iLounge/Media Center Feb. 4.

Athletics Director Anthony “Tony” Massaro welcomed guests and thanked families for their ongoing support of their student athletes. He congratulated the students’ academic and athletic efforts, which made it possible for them to be among the top three percent of national high school athletes who received scholarships to Division 1 and Division 2 rated schools.

“This is a day to remember for the rest of your lives,” Massaro said.

Following are the student-athletes and the schools to which they committed:

  • Yarisbeth Bradfield of Hialeah: Will play soccer at American University. She began playing soccer when she was eight years old. She was a three-year varsity starter at Archbishop McCarthy High and plans to study law.
  • Taylor Shore of Plantation: Will play soccer at Florida Gulf Coast University. Taylor began playing soccer when she was four years old. A four year starter at Archbishop McCarthy, she will play forward and major in communications.
  • Katie McInnis of Hialeah: Will play volleyball at Indian River State College. Katie was a four-year starter with a famous power left-handed kill shot. She was team captain her senior year and named Second Team all-County. She will study nursing.

Also signing a Letter of Intent but not pictured is Brian Van Belle, who will play baseball at Broward College.
