MIAMI | Families looking for an affordable summer camp within easy reach of downtown Miami, Wynwood, Midtown, Miami Beach, or the Design District should look no further than Archbishop Curley Notre Dame Prep’s Summer Knights day camps for tweens and teens.

The ACND campus, located in MiamiĀ“s Design District, has newly renovated tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, plus a football field, outdoor track, and gymnasium.

Both camps offer an opportunity to develop skills, and also to connect and learn from professionals in related areas of focus. The Visual and Performing Arts Camp field trips will include visits to: Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM); De la Cruz and Craig Robins Collections in the Design District; the Rubell Family Collection in Wynwood; and the Museum of Contemporary Art (North Miami), as well as onsite performances and workshops. The drama portion of the camp includes instruction in monologue, improvisation and music theory and art classes will develop skills in drawing, painting, and Pop Art.

The Summer Knights Athletic Camp teaches the fundamentals of sports and competition with each week focusing on a new area. Sports covered are: basketball, football, volleyball, tennis, soccer, softball, baseball, and wrestling. Each week, students can connect with sports professionals who will provide guidance in athletics and life. ACND Athletic Director Greg Magner, who was named the 2003 Dade County Football Coach of the Year, heads the camp and all coaches have 5 to 40 years of coaching experience.

Fun activities and lunch are also included. The camps will run from June 15 to July 17 for $100 per week; multiple week discounts are available. The registration fee, for camp bookings made online, will be waived until May 31.
