Miamiā¦(March 15, 2017) Archbishop Thomas Wenski will be celebrating this year’s Mass for Palm Sunday on April 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Cathedral located at 7525 NW 2nd Avenue Miami, FL 33150.
Archbishop Wenski will bless the palms outside St. Mary Cathedral, weather permitting, prior to celebrating the Mass at 9:45 a.m.
Palm Sunday, also known as Sunday of the Passion, is the Sunday before Easter and marks the beginning of Holy Week. Before the Mass, the blessing of the palms ideally takes place apart from the church, so that the congregation can go in procession, singing hymns to Christ the Messiah and King imitating Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem and ascent to the Temple and His Passion.
