New Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry

Welcome back Rosemarie Banich

Miamiā€¦(Oct. 16, 2014) As an outcome of the Second General Synod, the Archdiocese of Miami identified as one of its top priorities the creation of an Archdiocesan Office for Youth and Young Adult Ministry. After conducting a search for a highly qualified individual, Rosemarie Banich has been selected to serve as Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry.

As Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, Banich will work towards building a solid office to provide direction and serve as a resource to the parishes and schools of the archdiocese in the formation of our youth and young adults in their Catholic faith. She will design, develop and implement a training and certification program of leaders in the foundations of effective youth ministry, providing leadership to assist the pastors in the training of large groups of young adults to serve as missionaries in their parishes.

More recently, Banich was a Leadership Consultant for the Catholic Leadership Institute, where she was responsible for delivering the Institute’s services to Catholic dioceses, priests and lay leaders.  As such, she has served the dioceses of Boston, Miami and New Orleans.

Banich has an extensive background in youth ministry and religious education, previously serving as Director of Youth Ministry in St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church in La Canada, CA (2006-2009, 2010-2011), and as National Administrator for Safe Haven (2009-2010), a volunteerscreening and child protection program for a national youth soccer organization with over 120,000 volunteers and 500,000 players.
